Cool Barb.
Staples is listing a laptop for Black Friday as well. Don't know much other than its a Compaq/HP AMD dual core, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB HD, + a printer for $350. Think I'll check it out for traveling and my sons schooling. _________________

Yeah Newegg is the place to go for components.
Netburnz, If you dont't want to build a box and are looking, if you have a Best Buy near by they have a HP system for $679 (normally 760 or so). All thats missing is the video card.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8542188&productCategoryId=abcat0501004&type=product&tab=2&id=1188559785233#productdetail
I'm getting real close to the start of my next build. Once you get yours together Barb you'll have to let me know if you like that MB cause thats one I'm looking at. I'm going with the Black Box Athlon 5000 though cause the multiplier is unlocked and its a 65 watt processor. I'll keep the multiplier at 13 till I get the system up and running then I'll play with it. Folks have taken it up to a mutilplier of 15.5 on air (or 3.1 GHz from its stock 2.6). That is roughly what a 6200 runs and its currently $129. _________________

After a long hellish day, I got nothing!
Anyway, I ended up oredering a pc online, which should be here by the 5th of Dec. So my gaming atm is on hold unless I am absolutely the last resort.
Heres what I got otw:
Inspiron 531,Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (2.60GHz, 512Kx2)
2GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
17 in (17 in viewable) SE178WFPC, Flat Panel Display
320GB Serial ATA 2 Hard Drive (7200RPM)
Vista Home Premium Edition
16X DVD+/-RW Drive
Integrated NIC card
56K PCI Data Fax Modem
Yeah I still need a graphics card but they were overpriced at dell, I can wait on that tho.
Not bad for $600 delivered.
And best of all? No more drifting BS w/my controller! |

Well I've started ordering and buying components for a new build.
Picked up a Seagate 320 GB SATA 300 HD at Bestbuy Friday for $59. Should have bought 2 but I'm gonna get a smaller drive to serve as D drive (and future home of Vista Home Premium OEM builders addition when I dual boot it).
Also got a Cooler Master Centurion 5 ATX mid-tower case coming from Comp USA. They offered free shipping today (Cyber Moday). It was on sale $15 dollars and had a 30 mail-in rebate so I'm getting it for $18.04.

I'm gonna wait a bit before I order the rest however. One reason being I'm waiting to see procing on the new AMD 7-series motherboards - specifically the 790X and 770X. Only have info on 1 790X board ATM.
